NFL Rivalry
nflrivalry.com

The National Football League's (NFL) intense competition has created many great rivalries throughout its existence. Since the beginning, teams have thrived to be number one. Each team seeks that Super Bowl championship. This rough road to be at the top motivates players and fans alike to support their team. This creates, in some cases, a powerful hatred for the team as well as the city of other NFL teams.

NFL rivalries most commonly exist due to the divisional play each season. Every NFL team plays their divisional foes twice per year. This makes for hard fought, and sometimes even nasty football games. Other rivalries are created due to the geographical location of two cities. A rivalry that combines both divisional play and closeness of two cities is the rivalry between the Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers. These two cities are only separated by 132 miles.

The Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears rivalry is the oldest, and sometimes referred to as the most prestigious, rivalry in the NFL. The history of this rivalry dates back to 1922. While this rivalry still exists, new rivalries will continue to be created as seasons go by.
